The Mission True Leadership Training School (LTS) is designed to equip YWAM leaders understanding and embracing the YWAM DNA. Live and learn and skills will be imparted in areas of personal, operational, strategic, spiritual and missional leadership
Embracing our Future // Staying true to our Call
To multiply and equip fruitful YWAM leaders, with an ever-growing relationship with Jesus, who understand YWAM’s Statement of Purpose, Core Beliefs and Foundational Values. Students will be equipped to minister with an integrated Biblical Christian world view, embracing YWAM’s four Legacy Words and various Covenant renewal documents.
Course Description
The Mission True Leadership Training School (LTS) is designed to prepare both men and women for leadership roles in working to complete the Great Commission with a clear understanding of the YWAM history and DNA contributing to facilitating individual redemption and societal transformation. The course adopts a holistic approach, equipping students with Biblical principles applicable to leadership within missional and religious contexts, and all other spheres of society.
It integrates a comprehensive range of character attributes and skills essential for effective leadership — visionary thinking, effective communication, and practical management skills. Key topics include God-centred leadership, apostolic pioneering, working with multicultural teams, organizational and communication strategies, and fostering creativity and innovation across diverse multicultural settings. It also emphasizes financial stewardship, the character and family life of a Biblical leader, and learning to plan well for kingdom expansion — especially among the least, the last, and the lost.
As a capstone, students design a ministry planning project that they implement upon completing the course, reinforcing practical application of everything learned.
These are the five modules students will come to know/learn:
- Leader Relationships (Titus 1:6) — Collaborative, shared, and pastoral/discipling leadership; building healthy team culture in multicultural, diverse teams; cultural intelligence and communication skills.
- Personal Leadership (Titus 1:7-8) — Christlike character formation; personal/family life integrity; spiritual disciplines, self-awareness, and health (physical, mental, social, emotional).
- Leadership Skills (Titus 1:9) — Strategic thinking, decision-making, and crisis management; financial stewardship, corporate governance, and organizational leadership; understanding stages of ministry development and pioneering.
- Missional Leadership — Understanding YWAM’s Statement of Purpose, Core Beliefs, Foundational Values, Covenant Renewal Documents, and Biblical Christian worldview; spiritual eldership and building strategic alliances.
- Strategic Leadership (Project) — Researching an area needing change/multiplication, developing a biblical understanding of it, and creating an actionable, budgeted ministry plan to implement afterward.
Integrated Live-Learn Event
Mission True LTS is an integrated event, with worship, teaching, intercession, discussion, application, scripture meditation, strategizing, questions and answers all interwoven. Most afternoons will likely be spent in interactive Breakout sessions surrounding practical subjects, or areas of common interest. We also believe that the prayer, discussion and networking that will happen around the dinner table and other informal contexts among those gathered can be as important and God-directed as the content that is shared “up front” in the classroom.
The schedule will be quite full. Our philosophy is, “Let’s maximize the opportunity. Let’s spread the banquet table as full as we can, and let those who are hungry come and eat.” But we will also look for some opportunities to relax and simply enjoy each other’s fellowship together.
It’s important that all participants attend every session and are present from the start to the finish of the event.
Expected outcome
We trust that those who come will gain a greater understanding of YWAM’s history, calling and future. We trust you will be refreshed, that you will gain biblical leadership wisdom and equipping, that kingdom networks of relationships will be forged, that strategies for the region (and the world) will be birthed, and that new ministries will be encouraged and launched from this faith-filled environment, as we hear from the Lord together.
But possibly the more important question is: What are YOUR expectations? “According to your faith, so be it unto you” Matthew 9:29.
We will be praying for you as you take time to consider whether the Lord wants you to be part of this Mission True LTS. Do let us know if you have any questions or prayer requests.
